General advice to get you started. For advice that is truly tailored to your skin, a free intake is the best next step.
How do you determine your skin type?
A simple way to get an indication: cleanse your skin and then use no products for about an hour. Does your skin feel tight and dull everywhere? Then you probably have dry skin. Is mainly your T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) shiny while the rest feels normal? Then your skin is probably combination. Is your whole face shiny? That points more towards oily skin.
This is a first indication, not a definitive diagnosis - your skin type can also change with the season, age, hormones or stress. The most reliable advice still comes from a personal skin analysis.

Dry skin
Recognisable by
Feels tight, may flake, little shine.
General advice
Choose a richer day cream with a good lipid layer and avoid harsh cleansers that dry the skin out further.
Oily skin
Recognisable by
Gets shiny quickly, enlarged pores, more prone to blemishes.
General advice
Oily skin also needs hydration - choose light, non-comedogenic products instead of cleansing the skin 'dry'.
Combination skin
Recognisable by
Oily in the T-zone (forehead, nose, chin), drier on the cheeks.
General advice
Where needed, use different products per zone, or choose a care routine that adapts to both needs.
Normal skin
Recognisable by
Well balanced, little sensitivity or blemishes.
General advice
Focus on maintenance: a consistent basic routine and daily SPF keep the skin in balance.
Sensitive skin
Recognisable by
Reacts quickly with redness, may sting or itch with new products.
General advice
Introduce new products one at a time and test on a small area of skin first. Avoid fragrance and overly aggressive active ingredients.
